Seek God for the City - Day 28: Breath, breathe, breathed

We are continuing to Seek God for the City, following this great plan laid out by Waymakers. Our weekly focus is: praying for hope for evangelization of every people.  Under that umbrella, we are seeking God this week on behalf of Europe and Central Asia. Today, we are seeking God on behalf of men, and for God to be revealed by answered prayer.

Seek God.

You have probably seen, in real life or on TV, someone resuscitated by CPR.  That moment when they take that first breath of life is very dramatic as their mind races to reconnect with the life and world around them.  More common, but just as dramatic, is that first breath a baby takes, and the very first of thoughts begin in his new world.  Genesis 2:7 tells us that the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

I wonder what it was like for Adam, to take that first breath.  Somewhere, I imagine, between that first breath of a baby (since he was new in this world) and the first breath of one resuscitated, as he had some knowledge implanted by God.  But imagine -- taking that first breath, opening his eyes and seeing God.

All Scripture is God breathed...(2 Timothy 3:16).

Seeking God?  Breathe in...(say that slowly..."breeeeathe in")...His Word.

God breathed out the holy Scriptures...open them up and breathe them in.  Like a rescue breath in CPR, one sharing their breath, which restores life, God has shared His breath through His Word.  Breathe it in.  Open your eyes, your mind, your heart, and your soul to the world around you.

Breathe in His breath, His Word...open your eyes...see God.

Seek.

Find.
