Worry? How can I not worry?

Worry? How can I not worry?

Last time, I wrote that as Christians are commanded not to worry, and have a responsibility to be a non-anxious representative of Christ to the world, especially in anxiety filled times. Consider the exchange between Jesus and Peter. (Matthew 16:13-16)

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

We know that Peter stumbled a few times, but it was this realization, that Jesus is the Christ, that steeled him for all future trials. It was the comprehension that this Man he was following carried the keys to the universe that allowed him to be open to the Holy Spirit, to face ridicule, condemnation, and death. It allowed him to move forward, into an (in earthly terms of employment, income, and home ) uncertain future without anxiety. He now saw the world from a Heavenly perspective, from a Kingdom view.

Earthly woes shrink in the Light of the Christ.

Are you a Christian? Do you follow Jesus?

How will you answer when He asks you "Who do you say I am?"

Do you want to feel better?

Questions:
1. How is your anxiety level?

2. How are you seeking God to remain non-anxious?
3. Does the fact that the King of Heaven is your King, help you be peaceful?

"The branch of the vine does not worry, and toil, and rush here to seek for sunshine, and there to find rain. No; it rests in union and communion with the vine; and at the right time, and in the right way, is the right fruit found on it. Let us so abide in the Lord Jesus." Hudson Taylor
