Fearfully and wonderfully made

Fearfully and wonderfully made

Looking at the vastness and the intimacy of God,

Scripture: Genesis 2:4-7;21- 22 & Luke 1:30-35

This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens- and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being...So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

I love reading about the creation! It starts of with this Amazing God speaking the stuff of the universe into existence and breathing out the fiery stars, them gently forming Adam, by hand, and ever so tenderly breathing life into him. Shortly thereafter, He creates Eve, forming her from Adam's frame. From that time until today, all other people were created by the conception between a man and a woman.

Except Jesus.

A miracle brought all of humanity into existence. Another miracle brought humanity's Salvation.

The first allowed for your existence. The second - your eternity.

Glory be to God!

Questions:
1. Have you ever considered the uniqueness of Adam, Eve, and Jesus' 'births'?

2. Does that say anything to you?

3. Why did Jesus need to be conceived this way?
